General admission policy

All secondary and post-secondary studies are considered in the competitive selection process (unless otherwise noted). Admission is based on competitive overall averages and grades in subject requirements. Admission averages are based on two decimal places and are not rounded. Grade 11 results may be used in the early admission process. There are some Grades-Plus program requirements also known as non-academic requirements (e.g. portfolio, essay, interview, audition).


Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Due to competition, applicants may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum. Admission consideration is based on the information available at the time of application review. TMU may issue alternate Offers of Admission for some programs. Applicants are notified of alternate offers via the ChooseTMU Applicant Portal.

 

 FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

 The cost of attending Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) varies by Canadian citizenship or residency, Ontario residency, by program and whether you live in residence. For full-time undergraduate programs during the 2023-2024 academic year:

Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents can expect fees from $7,176 to $11,267

Canadian citizens or permanent residents who live outside of Ontario at the time of their admission can expect fees from $7,996 to $12,649

International student fees range from $33,423 to $38,584


SCHOLARSHIPS

Guaranteed and renewable scholarships

For students admitted for 2024-2025

Students attending a Canadian secondary school with final averages of 86% and higher, who meet the terms and conditions for scholarship, are guaranteed a renewable entrance scholarship according to the following values.

To be eligible for consideration for the guaranteed and renewable scholarships, students must:

Be currently enrolled full-time in a Canadian secondary school (minimum of three Ontario grade 12 U/M courses or Canadian provincial equivalent within the 2023-2024 regular school year

Have been continuously enrolled full-time (no gaps in full-time attendance prior to the 2023-2024 regular school year)

Be enrolling in a post secondary institution for the first time

Have submitted the correct and complete application for admission to the program for which the scholarship is being granted by September 1, 2024

Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, protected persons in Canada and international students are eligible for this award
